The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.

Duties

Serves as a Lead Quality Assurance Specialist for physical inspection programs of armament systems and subsystems. Provides leadership and mentoring of interns and team members, overseeing and reviewing Quality Assurance activities for technical adequacy and completeness. Responsible for evaluating qualification of personnel to perform quality assurance inspection and verification activities through direct oversight, interaction, and objective assessment of technical proficiency and competency. Plans, coordinates, monitors and evaluates policy, methodology, procedures, and practices relative to quality assurance, system safety, and engineering configuration management for armament systems or subsystems. Works with senior managers, projects leads, and program / budget analysts to develop financially executable program / budget estimates for new and existing efforts.

Requirements

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.

  • Selectee must execute, as condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position authorizes the incumbent to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(91)).
  • Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not qualified for this position.
