You will serve as a Supply Technician of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Duties
You will coordinate with ship Supply Officers and Hazardous Material (HM) Coordinators onboard ships the HM requirements necessary to support the ship during deployments.
You will identify/consolidate of HAZMAT materials. Identify correct storage for compatibility within storerooms and pier side HAZMAT lockers.
You will train afloat personnel on proper offload documentation, standardized offload procedures and maintain offload documentation.
You will ensure ship inventory is properly maintained and all materials meet shipboard specifications.
You will prepare correspondence related to inventory discrepancies and non-compliance.

- Incumbent must complete the Afloat HAZMAT Coordinator, HMCM Technician, and CHRIMP/HICS Technician courses within six months of employment
- This position requires occasional travel.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Supply Technician specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing Hazmat supply activities. Specific knowledge and experience must include performing the following: 1. Applying a thorough working knowledge of governing supply and hazardous material management regulations, policies, methods and procedures to perform a wide assortment of supply transactions, inventory management, and warehouse functions; 2. Perform inventory management and requisition in a variety of automated supply systems; 3. Maintain inventory records and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy of records; 4. Provide customers with information on the proper handling of hazardous material, maintain up-to-date and accurate records in regards to HAZMAT related materials and processing customer requests for hazardous materials.
