Duties

Function as the Retirement Services Officer (RSO) as directed. Primary counselor for Individual/Group Counseling. Subject matter expert on Budgeting and Casualty Operations issues. Function as the Transition Services Manager (TSM). Support to all Military Personnel Services.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY travel is occasionally required.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime, after duty hours, weekends, or holidays, as mission dictates.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes service that involves experience in applying the principles, practices, and procedures involved in administering military personnel actions; retrieve, interpret and display data for use as a management information source; apply regulations, procedures and/or precedents to provide advice and solve specific problems; complete assignments independently and keep supervisor informed of progress and potential controversies or problems with widespread impact. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management, Business Management and Public Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceInformation ManagementProblem SolvingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
