Duties
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical service and equipment at the Fort Mifflin Project Office
Facility is supplied by a primary source of 4160 volts which is distributed throughout the installation through underground electrical lines.
Performs the full range of Marine Electrical installation, maintenance and repair on floating plant (exclusive of Hopper Dredges) assigned to the Fort Mifflin Project Office.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and overhauls a variety of electrical devices ranging from small 1/4 horsepower to 150 horsepower units and generators ranging from 2KW to 200KW.
Repairs, troubleshoots, and installs heating equipment and auxiliary mechanisms including oil and/or gas fired furnaces, water heaters, space heaters, boilers, automatic controls, convertors, piping, pumps, and related heating components
Responsible for the maintenance of a great variety of equipment and systems such as electrical steering, control panels, propulsion motors, generators, etc.
Maintains PAD mounted transformers and underground cables.
Performs plumbing duties which involve installing and repairing new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrician without more than normal supervision. Your resume must demonstrate that you have the ability to perform common tasks such as installing, maintaining, and repairing of electrical service and equipment; and/or maintaining a variety of equipment and systems such as electrical steering, control panels, propulsion motors, generators, etc.; and/or troubleshooting a variety of electrical devices. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding and platforms as well as where the parts are in difficult to reach places (i.e., hull of launch). Requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment and parts that occasionally weigh in excess of 40 lbs.
WORKING CONDITION:
Subject to shocks, burns, and electrocution (if safety practices are not strictly followed) when working with live wires and equipment. May work in close quarters. Outside maintenance tasks can usually be deferred during bad weather. Subject to falls during occasional work on poles. When working on floating plant, subject to drowning in case of an accident. Plumbing duties occasionally require making repairs in areas where unpleasant odors are present.
