This position is located in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of Inspector General (OIG), and Office of Audits, Evaluations, and Cyber (AEC). This position conducts audits, evaluations, and/or reviews on FDIC programs and operations, assess their efficiency and effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvements at the Agency.

As an Auditor (Performance) you will:
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here.
All applicants MUST meet one of the basic qualification requirements AND the specialized experience described below for this position:
Basic Qualification Requirement:
(1) Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR
(2)Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting one of the basic qualifications requirements listed above,
For the CG-13: Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following experiences:
planning and conducting audits, evaluations or reviews in accordance with the applicable standards;
developing procedures (e.g. interviews, document reviews and data analysis) to identify improvements to operational efficiency;
preparing draft and final reports with finding elements (i.e., condition, criteria, cause, and effect) and recommendations for corrective action(s); and
presenting findings and recommendations in meetings or briefings.
