The position is located at the Salem VA Health Care System within the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 6) in Salem, VA. Incumbent supervises the Planned Maintenance and Projects Maintenance shop of the Maintenance & Operations Section, Facilities Management Service.

Duties

Managing, supervising, planning, overseeing and training of the Planned Maintenance and Projects Maintenance shop personnel. Determining labor and material costs for maintenance and repairs, minor improvements, maintenance contracts, and alterations. Furnishing advice and recommendations to services requesting work. Determining equipment, supplies and maintenance required. Assuring that material is ordered and delivered to work sites so as not to delay work. Scheduling work assignments under the indirect supervision of the M&O Supervisor. Administering the time and leave functions. Explaining management polices to employees and provides technical and professional administrative guidance and counseling.
