Duties

Exercises leadership and overall responsibility for managing, developing, and coordinating the business and operational aspects of the DLA site's FMWR programs. Keeps abreast of new policies, procedures, regulations, directives, etc. Develops broad mission requirements and objectives; plans for accomplishment of objectives; reviews status and progress; and provides management guidance and direction to improve services to DLA employees and other DOD customers. Directs and oversees FMWR program activities. Develops organizational vision, goals, plans, and objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3. Must be able to obtain and maintain a T3 clearance.

Qualifications

Qualifications: One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for a Chief, FMWR. Experience must reflect management of multiple business units. Highly Qualified are those who possess the following: At least one year of management or leadership experience with DOD NAF MWR in at least one of the following: Business & Recreation, Family Program, Child & Youth Services, or Senior Level Support Services (Financial Management, Marketing, Sponsorship, IT, Contracting). This experience and knowledge must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. Applicants meeting the Highly Qualified criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection. WORKING CONDITIONS: Sedentary mainly office work. This position is a regular full-time (RFT) position.
