About the Position: This position resides in the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), Brigade (BDE), S-3 Operations Division, Operations Branch. This is a Permanent position.

Duties

Support the Operations Branch by performing various military human resources (HR) administrative support duties. Provides guidance and assistance to the commanders on the Enlistment Standards Program (ESP) to ensure actions adhere to USAREC Regulations. Conducts and/or participates in the conduct of inspections and re-inspections of subordinate Battalions. Maintains and reports status of Special Missions information. Support the Brigade's Unit Status Brief (USB), awards board, mentorship program, and evaluates the recruiting support program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY may be required approximately three to five days a month in order to conduct training at and/or perform inspections of subordinate Battalions/ Companies.
  • This position is dependent on successful completion of the United States Army/Army Reserve Guidance Counselor Operations Course (GCOC).
  • -Previous completion will be honored without regard to the date of completion of this course.
  • -Qualified applicants that have not completed the GCOC will be scheduled for attendance within 180 days of employment and must successfully complete the course within 365 days to remain in the position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Conduct quality control checks of personnel documents to ensure compliance with regulations; Utilize an automated system to prepare complex documents such as correspondence, orders, memoranda, forms, or reports; Process personnel actions using a human resource automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Human Resources. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
