Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Gulf of Mexico Region, Office of the Regional Director in Jefferson, LA.
At the full performance level (GS-10) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Serves as the scheduling manager and executive assistant for the Regional Director
2. Maintains the calendar for the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Directors and schedules appointments and briefings based on personal knowledge of the workload and priorities.
3. Makes reservations and drafts travel authorizations. Refines schedules and arrangements to meet the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director's needs.
4. Compiles and prepares schedules, background information, briefing materials, and other information for the Chief and Deputy Chief daily.
5. Conducts records management activities for GOMR ORD in coordination with the records manager. Archives materials as needed.
6. Keeps the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Directors informed of day-to-day activities, commitments, issues, and priorities.
7. Serves as timekeeper for ORD.
BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information
GS-10 (Step 1): $66,036- (Step 10): $85,844
First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience (Must be equivalent to the next lower grade level for which you are advertising)
To qualify for the GS-10, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1. planning and scheduling support for Senior Executive Level managers;
2. managing correspondence and action documents for leadership review and/or signature consistent with agency policy;
3. processing travel documents and ensuring they are in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies governing travel; AND
4. utilizing an automated time and attendance system
Typing Proficiency: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements for the grade level above, ALL applicants must show possession of 40 words per minute typing speed.
