This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with the 88th Readiness Division, Directorate of Public Works, Facility Maintenance Team, located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

Duties

Perform site surveys to gather data. Determine services, maintenance, and repairs required. Conduct technical inspections and evaluations of projects. Gather engineering data. Analyze construction project options. Develop and modify contract packages. Prepare cost effective estimates for construction projects. Serve as Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for all contracted projects. Prepare plans and scopes of work. Review work orders, drawings, and specifications.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing construction plans; inspecting work sites; preparing or modifying contracts; and estimating project costs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
