Serve as NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Medical and Environmental Management Division Deputy Division Chief. GSFC encompasses facilities in Greenbelt, Maryland, Wallops Flight Facility, Virginia, and numerous sites across the country and internationally. The Medical and Environmental Management Division administers GSFC's environmental compliance and protection programs, and occupational medicine, health, and wellness programs.

Duties

Advise on, manage, supervise, and perform administrative or program work for environmental compliance and protection programs at Goddard Space Flight Center's (GSFC) multiple facilities. Evaluate, communicate requirements, and implement environmental projects and programs to address rulemaking, regulations, standards, and NASA policy. Integrate environmental considerations into decision-making processes and ensure environmental effects are considered in planning and decision-making for NASA actions and activities. Supervise a diverse team of environmental scientists, engineers, and occupational medical and health specialists. Advise on and manage administrative or program work for occupational medicine, health, and wellness at GSFC’s multiple facilities. Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Administering environmental compliance and protection programs and the laws and regulations related to environmental protection activities; Planning, funding, evaluating, and implementing broad, complex environmental compliance and protection programs; Supervising or leading a diverse team of environmental professionals.
