As a temporary Student Trainee (Mathematics/Statistics) in the OCC Pathways Internship Program, you will provide basic assistance to division staff by performing a variety of research, data analysis and retrieval, and other technical support duties.

Duties
As a Student Trainee (Mathematics/Statistics), NB-1599-III in the OCC Pathways Internship Program, you will:
Performs a variety of basic research, mathematical, and statistical support duties; Uses data sets and/or statistical software to develop or assist in developing tables, graphs, and/or reports.
Prepares written summaries of information collected. Assists in preparing and maintaining computerized charts and graphs for use in analyzing data, preparing estimates and forecasts.
Summarizes recurring data problems and develops recommendations for handling such as revising specifications or procedures and assisting with the preparation of documentation on procedures and problems encountered while making preliminary recommendations.
Assists in the development of user guides, data update procedures, process flows, and other documentation associated with Division activities.
Qualifications
You must meet the following Eligibility Requirements and Qualification Requirements by the start date of this internship.
Eligibility Requirements:
1) You MUST meet the definition of a STUDENT for the duration of your appointment as follows: An individual accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (high school, college (4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate) in a qualifying and accredited educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled), including awardees of the Harry S. Truman Foundation Scholarship Program under Public Law 93-842. Students need not be in actual physical attendance, so long as all other requirements are met. An individual who needs to complete less than the equivalent of half an academic/vocational or technical course-load immediately prior to graduating is still considered a student for purposes of this Program. 2) Grade Point Average (GPA): Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.9 or higher on a 4.0 scale. An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time time study at the school attended.
One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study, or 18 semester hours. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time time study at the school attended.
Qualification Requirements: To qualify for the NB-III level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education: In the Internship Program, you may qualify based solely on education as follows:
Completion of one (1) full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours).
OR
Completion of a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement.
