Duties
You will perform carpentry work to structures and miscellaneous exterior items (floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, stairways, overhangs, railings, doors, windows, screens, cabinets, fencing, storage enclosures, bath accessories, insulation etc.).
You will make maintenance repairs to facilities by refitting doors and screen frames, replacing broken screens and hardware, and repairing dry rot, mudsills, rafters and windows.
You will perform window work to facilities including jalousies, doors and window screens.
You will lay out work from blueprints, sketches, and written instructions and make carpentry related repairs and alterations on building framework, truss members, beams, rafters, roof sheeting, wall sliding, ceilings, floors and foundations.
You will repair and install locks, make keys for doors, cabinets and security areas, and perform sealing and caulking work to facilities.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Incumbent may lift and move materials up to 40 pounds, unassisted, and occasionally lift or move heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current government motor vehicle license.
Qualifications
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: repairing and modifying wood structures.
