The primary purpose of this position is to educate, advise and coordinate on issues relating to Sexual Assault Prevention and Response in the AF Basic Military Training (BMT) environment.
Duties
Initiates, oversees, and manages the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) education and training program for Air Force BMT training accessions and military training instructors assigned to the 737 TRG
Provides subject matter expert content to improve SAPR training materials used for BMT accessions and MTI training by researching related subjects contained in reports articles and other professional publications
Coordinates on call support to victims of sexual assault in need of response intervention

- Tier 3 background investigation and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check is required
- A degree or equivalent experience in the behavioral sciences or social work is desired

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, 101 Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: Behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Combination of education and experience that has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of social science and social work principles and concepts and practices relating to the prevention of and response to sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence. Knowledge of education and training concepts, instructor pool management, and technical student issues. Knowledge of victim advocacy principles, concepts, and practices to include prevention and response. Knowledge of social service delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating specifically to sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and practices relating to privacy information. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official transcripts.

EDUCATION: Applicants meet the basic requirements as stated in the vacancy announcement for the GS-0101-09 and have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants meet the basic requirements as stated in the vacancy announcement for the GS-0101-09 but have less than the full amount of specialized experience described; however, they have at least one year of progressively higher level graduate education, but have not obtained a master's or equivalent graduate degree. Therefore, applicants have a combination of experience and education. Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-9 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of victim advocacy principles, concepts, and practices to include prevention and response
Knowledge of social science and social work principles and concepts and practices relating to the prevention of and response to sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence
Knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating specifically to sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interactions with individuals and with program representatives/officials
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and legibly in writing; ability to provide information and one-on-one assistance to individuals under difficult circumstances using sensitivity, tact, and caring; ability to prepare, evaluate, and disseminate information on prevention and support programs and activities for sexual assault and other areas of interpersonal violence. Skill in presenting formal and informal courses and briefings
Skill in using various computer software database, spreadsheet, word processing, and network programs such as Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRD, DORS, TBB, and SITES
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires federal agencies to treat an eligible active duty service member as a veteran, disabled veteran, and preference eligible (as applicable) when applying for civil service positions before the effective release or discharge date. Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave. At the time the active duty member applies for a civil position, he or she must submit a "certification" memo in lieu of a DD-Form 214,
