This position is location in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Salisbury VA Medical Center (VAMC), in Environmental Management Service (EMS), which operates sanitation/housekeeping services seven days a week utilizing both day and evening tours of duty. The primary purpose of this position is to determine quotas for all housekeeping supply closets and to revise stock levels for all housekeeping supplies.
Duties
Major Duties not limited to:
Initiates orders for all supplies when stock levels reach a set point so that supplies usually do not run out and emergency orders are not required
Maintains and enters transactions in Generic Inventory Package (GIP) that occur in the acquisition.
Assembles and delivers supplies to closets and maintains records for control purposes
Prepares ordering data
Maintains a files on supplies
Inventories stocks and revises orders accordingly
Adjusts quotas based on usage
Serves as an alternate timekeeper Emergency Management Service
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
General Experience: General Experience GS-4: Do you have at least one (1) full year of general experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Supply Clerk and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled? General experience is Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of general experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of GIP database procedures and instructions to enter information and conduct searches. Knowledge of barcode and scanning equipment to accurately account for and record supplies and equipment. Knowledge of standardized inventory management policies, practices, procedures and instructions to to receive, store, issue, and replenish a variety of supplies and equipment, rotate stock, and maintain perpetual inventory records; Knowledge of VHA, VA, EMS (Emergency Management Service) organization, handbooks, and standard operating procedures, pertaining to inventory and distribution functions to set quotas, research discrepancies in inventory, and search physical inventory for lost, stolen, or missing items. Knowledge of Federal and VA standards for handling, transportation, storage, and disposal of chemicals, hazardous and infectious waste inherent to Environmental Management Standards. Knowledge of regular and recurring application of pay and leave laws, rules, regulations, and agency policy regarding entitlements to overtime, differential, hazardous duty, holiday and special rates, and premium pay in order to perform timekeeping duties. Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Successfully completed two years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite .

Physical Requirements: This positions requires standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying supplies, and equipment. Must be able to carry or lift supplies weighing up to 75 pounds, and moving equipment which may be bulky and cumbersome weighing a few hundred pounds.
