About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers is comprised of motivated and talented employees providing the very best engineering services for communities in the Pacific Northwest. The District helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.
Duties
Writes and coordinates content for various technical reports.
Prepares requests for information and replies to inquiries for information.
Offer suggestions for edits to technical data in lay terms and conformance with existing policy to subject matter expert personnel.
Identifies areas of possible overlap, omissions, or discrepancies, and resolves differences.
Offer suggestions for better style, clarity, and logical presentation
Assists subject matter expert personnel in maintaining engineering digital technical libraries.
Participates in interdisciplinary study teams.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-09 Specialized Experience: This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service and directly related to this occupation equivalent to the GS-07 level. This experience includes editing engineering reports and using Microsoft Software Suite to edit, write, and rewrite scientific and technical reports and articles for publication.

Education: Successful completion of two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent degree at an accredited college or university that includes 15 semester hours in scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course of which is above the introductory level.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
