You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Safety Dept of COMMANDER ELEC ATTACK WING PAC FLEET. You will be responsible for the Corrosion Prevention and Control as well as the Respiratory Protection Program Manager for the command.

Duties

You will ensure sufficient quantities of required materials, equipment, and tools to support the Corrosion Prevention and Control Program and emergency reclamation actions/procedures. You will promote and educate workers in safety strategies, controls, and mishap prevention techniques. You will conduct and document corrosion control, emergency reclamation, and respiratory protection training. You will maintain program files and provide input to the monthly maintenance plan and maintenance material management (3M) summary. You will perform duties as the Ground Government Flight Representative (GGFR) to ensure that applicable contractual obligations and procedures are adhered to and that all contractor personnel meet appropriate series standards. You will maintain accurate records, order and maintain adequate kit inventory levels. You will monitor personnel and inspect painting/coating processes, provide indoctrination and training to ensure the safety of personnel, and material condition of aircraft and aeronautical equipment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Obtaining safety or occupational health data and information to prepare a report of findings regarding work operations, mishaps, or safety practices. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene)
OR
A degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene)
OR
A degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
OR
Obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
