Duties
Greets and directs visitors to the appropriate area, routes incoming telephone calls, and provides general routine information upon inquiry. Receives and gives directions to persons who call or visit an activity or office. Provides information in person or over the telephone in response to inquiries concerning such matters as the identification, location, and general responsibilities of various organizations, facilities, activities, and personnel. Explains function and features of programs and services. May perform minor clerical duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience or training in clerical or office work which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position in a satisfactory manner. Ability to read, write, speak English and deal effectively with the public. Experience involving public contact or service is desirable.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
