Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for victim witness program.Typical work assignments will include: Providing technical advice to litigation teams on automation requirements and system capabilities to facilitate litigation decisions, trail preparation and trial presentation. Analyzing litigation support requirements to develop or recommend appropriate strategies to meet litigation needs. Maintaining inventory and tracking for litigation support equipment, graphics, computer based equip, video, audio equipment and items used in trial preparation and ensures equipment is good working order. Researching and summarizing the factual parts of cases, analyzing reports, testimony interviews and files. Analyzing automated litigation support functions and recommending changes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness. Studying, designing and develops litigation support systems to facilitate provision of legal functions. Diagnosing and resolving litigation support computer systems problems and customizes databases and programs modified to meet user needs. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications for GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you meet at leave one of the following conditions as defined below: Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing legal and technical assistance throughout the electronic discovery (e-discovery) lifecycle to support investigations, reviews, and litigation; supporting the use of e-discovery platforms, tools and software to collect, analyze, and produce electronically stored information; assisting project teams in the implementation and documentation of e-discovery and case management workflows; and applying legal principles and e-discovery best practices in the daily administration of projects and plans. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. OR Combination of Education: I have a combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate-level education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. To calculate your percentage of graduate education, first determine the total number of graduate hours that exceed 36 semester hours (or your school's definition of two years of graduate study), then divide the total number of your excess graduate semester hours by 18 (or your school's definition of one year of graduate study). To calculate your percentage of qualifying experience, divide your total number of months of qualifying experience by 12. Now, add the two percentages together. The sum of the percentages must equal at least 100%. (Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used in this calculation.) Qualifications for GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you meet the condition defined below: Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: performing the following type of duties: Providing project management and technical support throughout the electronic discovery lifecycle of investigations, review, and litigation; utilizing e-discovery platforms and tools to facilitate the collection, analysis, and production of electronic stored information; collaborating with project teams to develop, implement, and document comprehensive e-discovery and case management workflows; evaluating and making recommendations for e-discovery program use, including changes in response to new or emerging technologies and operational needs; and applying legal principles and e-discovery best practices in the daily administration of projects and plans. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
