You will serve as a Combined Trades Supervisor II in the Pipe, Insulation and Equipment Maintenance Division (Code 960) of the Production Resources Department (Code 900) at PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will plan work on a long-range basis. You will analyze present and future work schedules, determine the manpower, material, equipment, training, methods and other requirements needed to perform the work. You will consult regularly with Shop Head and other General Foremen both within and from other shops in planning present and future work operations. You will manage and review work processes/procedures for safety and first time quality standards. You will work with subordinate supervisors in planning and assigning work groups to present and future work operations. You will determine work requirements by setting deadlines, sequence of operations, and standards of quality and quantity. You will maintain balanced workloads among subordinate work groups. You will be responsible for wide range of personnel management matters such as developing Performance standards and rating lower level supervisors and employees. You will promote a variety of management programs such as cost reduction, safety, incentive awards, etc. You will assure equality on determining qualifications, selections, assignments, trainings, promotions, and other personnel actions. You will cooperate and participate fully in the development of an EEO affirmative action plan and efforts regarding staffing, motivation, and training to develop all employees. You will ensure the success of the Division's functions, monitor and evaluate the progress of the organization toward meeting goals, and make adjustments in objectives, work plans, schedules, and the commitment of resources.

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Work involves involves intermittent heavy exertion, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, cramped work positions, intermittent exposure to moving objects, elevations, exposed electrical conductors, explosives, and high speed flying particles.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
