About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist functioning as the Assistant Brigade Supply Specialist/Transportation Coordinator to the Soldier Recovery Brigade (SRB)-National Capital Region (NCR) S-4 Logistics Officer on all phases of supply operations and contracts.
Duties
Performs the complete spectrum of U.S. Army Active component and Reserve component supply system operations.
Serves as the Transportation Coordinator and is responsible for the management and operational control of a 20+Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) certified vehicle fleet in two separate locations.
Serves as the Brigade Government Purchase Card (GPC) Approving Official (AO).
Serves as the transportation Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for all locations and units under the SRB.
Monitors and verifies contractor performance and compliance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of the contract.
Maintains liaison with higher headquarters and external organizations on policy and regulatory matters in the branch chief’s absence.
Serves as the Technical Advisor and Special Projects Officer on complex supply programs and problems when designated as the action officer.
Coordinates supply visits from higher headquarters with agency activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzes recurring reports (i.e., Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss (FLIPL), Inventory Losses and Gains); analyzes equipment and other needs to support logistical operations; advises in correcting supply deficiencies; AND performs quality assurance surveillance of contractor's performance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Transportation, Logistics Management, or Supply Chain Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
