This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), The National Logistics Support Center (NLSC) with two vacancies in Grandview, MO.

Duties
The incumbent will serve as Materials Handler Leader. As a Materials Handler Leader, you will perform the following duties:
Distributes workers instructions received from supervisor and starts work (assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led).
Responsible for all storage, packing, issuance and physical inventory functions of National Logistics Support Center (NLSC).
Ensures that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Operates standard forklifts, mobile stock selectors, stacker cranes, and larger warehouse perimeter vehicles such as cargo tractors, stake trucks, and jumbo tugs.
Assures employees observe safety rules, wear protective clothing or devices when required and keep the warehouse neat and clean.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 Warehousing And Stock Handling Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
Federal Wage System (FWS) positions require the use of a Screen-Out Element (SOE). Points awarded for this element will range from 0-4, with 4 being the highest. Points will be based on experience and training which are documented by your responses to the questionnaire. All applicants must receive a score of 2.0 or above on the SOE and an average of 2.0 on all the job elements in order to be considered minimally qualified for the position(s) to be filled.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
