You will serve as a Archivist in the Office of Director of Research, code 105300 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY. Duties

You will curate a diverse array of materials, from scientific reports to project documentation and artifacts You will employ effective retrieval systems and user-friendly interfaces You will develop engaging exhibits and outreach programs that showcase the NRL's historical achievements through creative and informative displaces. You will offer expertise in archival materials and facilitating scholarly investigations. You will ensure meticulous documentation for efficient retrieval, thereby enhancing overall accessibility to the NRL's historical assets. You will contribute to the preservation of materials that are vital to understanding the NRL's scientific and technological evolution.

Requirements

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NO-03 (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) Overseeing the organization and maintenance of an extensive collection; 2) Identifying, appraising and acquiring records of enduring value that aligns with an organization; 3) Utilizing cutting-edge techniques to safeguard materials from deterioration; 4) Contributing the formulation and implementation of archival polices, ensuring alignment with guidelines, industry standards, and legal requirements; and 5) Establishing and implementing policies and procedures for systematic creation, retention, and disposal of records across an organization. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

- Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/ or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government.
OR
- Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
