You will serve as a Financial Technician in the Flight Programs (N81), Comptroller Department (N8) of NAVREGSW RESERVE COMPONENT COMMAND.

Duties

You will monitor error and suspense reports and research to determine the appropriate course of action to make corrections. You will work with external customers to research aged obligation validation taskers from higher headquarters. You will assist the Accounting Lead with the timely collection of Key Supporting Documents (KSD) for FIAR sample requests. You will prepare cost transfer and manual cost adjustment packages for Accounting Lead review and Comptroller approval. You will prepare reimburasble work order (RWO) packages and amendments for Accounting Lead review and Comptroller signature.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT level II position IAW Chapter 5 of SECNAV M-5510.30.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience maintaining and examining financial data and preparing and analyzing reports. Experience entering financial data into financial systems. Experience collecting financial data.
