About the Position:
This position is located at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA. with DoDEA HQ, Office of the Director Office of the Inspector General.
Duties
Evaluate systems, functions and activities to determine the capability of the inspected element to achieve mission success.
Develop inspection leads through analysis of interviews, observations and records examination.
Determines necessary corrective actions and identifies level of authority, responsibility etc.
Analyze inspections information to determine root cause of noted deficiencies.
Conduct long- and short-range planning, organizing, scheduling, etc. for fact-finding visits.
Maintain the required privacy and confidentiality of information
Prepare inspection reports and entrance and exit briefings in accordance with applicable regulations and/or directives.
Plan and conduct inspector general (IG) inspections of directed topics/programs and/or other situations where a system is not functioning as required or designed.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
- Duties of this position require the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.

Specialized Experience GS 13: One year of specialized experience which includes: Conducting Inspector General inspections which includes developing inspection plans; determining appropriate standards; developing inspection scope, methodology, and objectives; identifying and applying appropriate information gathering techniques; analyzing information and determining root causes of deficiencies; and preparing inspection reports detailing analysis, findings and recommendations for leadership.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
