About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week.
Duties
Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: May 31, 2024, Jun 10, 2024, and closing on Jun 26, 2024. Announcement will close once position is filled.
Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more vehicles to include: platform trucks, pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, sedans, crew cab trucks, passenger shuttle vans and cargo vans with gross weight of more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds for the purpose of transporting personnel, supplies, materials or recreation equipment throughout the installation and the state of Florida. Operates vehicle through all kinds of traffic, or over rough terrain, depending upon the type of vehicle being operated. Loads and unloads cargo by hand including sundry and HAZMA T material control. Exercises caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers. Determines shortest and safest routes. Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs. Washes vehicles. Reports hazards and damages to supervisor and assists with completion of associated paperwork for reporting. Collects and prepares recreation equipment and materials for disposal via sale, DRMO or recycle. Acts as a professional trip and/or route guide and ensures accountability and safety of participants, to include multi-day and destination trips and tours. Ensures eligibility of participants for trips and tours and maintains roster in accordance with Air Force personally identifiable information guidelines. Reports incidents to chain of command and completes necessary paperwork for reporting.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles. Must have a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement certification. Must be able to load and arrange cargo. Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to I 00 pounds. Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty to include weekends, holidays and overnight stays in locations outside of Brevard County, Florida. Must obtain the American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of employment. Prior experience in a customer service and/or recreation field is desirable. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. "

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
