This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2572000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.
Duties
As a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), WS-6641-9, you will assign duties to subordinates; explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas; ensure personnel are trained to execute munitions operations; review work in progress or on completion; make adjustments as necessary to effectively and economically accomplish the work; document and investigate work related problems and implement corrective actions; assure equipment, material and resources are available when needed. Coordinate work requirements with outside agencies; plans work schedules and sequence of operations; establish deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies; determine skills, materials and equipment required to do the work; participate in the budget development; provide workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work. Implement regulatory safety and security requirements and ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow safety precautions and security regulations.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical efforts involve climbing, stooping, standing, bending, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Requires moderate to strenuous physical exertion. Lifts heavy equipment and components, weighing from 50 to 100 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside, in inclement weather, on icy, wet, and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands, and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, engine noise, heat blast, intake suction; explosive munitions; chemical munitions, electrical voltage, cartridge actuating devices; liquid oxygen, fire or explosion of aircraft fuels, lubricants, paints and solvents.
Requirements
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

MILITARY GRADES:Enlisted, E1 thru E8
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which has provided the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-09 must have 36 months experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
