About the position: This position will be assigned to the Shaw Youth Center Shaw AFB.
Duties
Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more vehicles to include: platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, ambulances, passenger shuttle vans and cargo vans with gross weight of more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Operates vehicle through all kinds of traffic, or over rough terrain, depending upon the type of vehicle being operated. Loads and unloads cargo by hand. Exercises caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers. Determines shortest and safest routes. Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs. Washes vehicles.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles. Be able to obtain a Commercial driver's License (CDL) if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver. Be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use." Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
