About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This is a hard to fill position located at Fort Greely, Alaska .

Duties

Serve as the 59th Signal Battalion/Network Enterprise Center (NEC) Planner. Provide project management, planning, analysis, design, engineering, cost estimate development, testing, configuring, implementing, integrating and quality assurance of installed IT systems used in voice, data, and/or video formats. Serves as point of contact for IT planning and integration supporting programs, secure and non-secure networks, wired and wireless technologies, video teleconferencing and security system requirements. Responsible for analysis of customer requirements and industry trends to determine future IT and telecommunications network requirements. Develops design plans for the Local Area Network (LAN) transport architecture and plans the Wide Area Network (WAN) interface.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by having the knowledge and experience of project management in regard to communications infrastructure, construction, and installation of fiber/copper optic cable distribution systems for inside plant and outside plant; creating and interpreting construction drawings for telecommunication distribution systems; knowledge of army and industry standards for installation of copper and fiber optic cable distribution systems for inside plant and outside plant; project management experience related to telecommunications cabling infrastructure, developing requirements, scope, materials list, schedule, cost, and acceptance testing.
