Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing substantive legal support to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of the Virgin Islands. Typical work assignments will include: Prepare budget justifications for recommended allocation levels, particularly deviations from initial office submissions. Analyze expenditure data to identify variables affecting district costs. Manage the certification of obligations for the district ensuring all financial records, i.e. obligations, expenditures, delivery status and available balances, are accurate and supported with proper fund control documentation. Serve as the primary resource in responding to audit questions and findings. Plan work to be accomplished and setting priorities in financial management, procurement, and support services. Assign work to others based on difficulty of assignments and staff capabilities. Review work completed by others to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Provide technical advice and assistance to resolve problems referred by staff and management. Provide support services management for a broad range of services including space management, mail, telecommunication, purchasing and acquisitions, internal control, records, and reproduction services.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation

Qualifications

GS-12 To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized Experience Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in the formulation and execution of a budget; analyzing and resolving complex budget problems; preparing preliminary budget estimates and reviewing justifications; drafting budgetary procedures and internal policy guidance for use by staff; and providing technical advice, consultation, and assistance to management on a range of budget program issues. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
