About the Position: Position is for an Emergency Management Specialist with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District. This position is not to exceed one year but could be extended or made permanent without further competition. Duties

Assist in the development of an annual budget for the Natural Disaster Program (NDP) of which the Emergency Operations Center is part, submit and defend its needs, and executes the Program toward accomplishment of Program goals. Develop operational plans and procedures for District activities supporting Emergency Operations. Evaluates the NDP and takes the necessary corrective action to ensure the District (a three-state region) maintains a "Ready" posture. Acts as liaison for and with the District elements: coordinating, planning, and training as relate to emergency operations. Review and approve responder travel orders, vouchers and any disaster related billings, ensuring propriety and correctness for funds.

Requirements

• Required to obtain/maintain state motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment.
• This position is subject to all the provisions of the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Pre- employment drug test required and enrollment in the army random drug testing program.

• This position requires a SECRET security clearance.
