You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST FACILITY & INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT DEPT FACILITY & PLANT MAINT DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will use hand tools, portable power tools and a wide variety of test equipment. You will be familiar with basic electronic theory, including Ohm’s law. You will be familiar with troubleshooting techniques to assist higher-level employee in troubleshooting and to troubleshoot for common recurring kinds of defects. You will apply blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, technical manuals, National Electric Code, National Fire Codes, local codes, and use trade formulas to calculate common properties. You will test equipment such as multi-meters, meggers, dielectric test sets and programming automated test equipment. You will perform standard soldering operations on cable/harness assemblies, connectors, and power assemblies, and assist soldering to printed circuit cards.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Install, repair, modify, troubleshoot, load and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures and controls located in and near industrial buildings and structures. Plan and determine the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity and safe operation of circuits, systems, industrial equipment and controls. Install or replace lighting facilities and systems requiring necessary wiring, switches, panels, breakers, and junction and control boxes. Inspect defective equipment and defective wiring; and Operate automated test equipment (ATE) to perform standardized testing operations. and specifications in wiring diagrams, blueprints and engineering drawings.
