About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Agency, 72nd Medical Group at Tinker Air Force Base. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Serve as representative for the Department of Pharmacy on all committees related to Clinical Investigations. Review proposed study protocols before Clinical Investigation and Human Use committee consideration. Assist the medical staff in designing, coordinating, and accomplishing an effective drug use evaluation program to improve therapeutic effectiveness and decrease waste. Initiate effectiveness analysis, reviews specific drug use and total drug therapy for high cost/high volume disease states. Operate a drug information center and provides routine and complex drug information to patients and practitioners through literature analysis and research. Provide lectures for continuing education to pharmacy, nursing, medical, and other clinical staffs on a variety of subjects.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
  • This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Qualification: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors.
