About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, Property Control Branch, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Receives, stores, and issues a wide variety of commercial, tactical, and engineer equipment.
Receives incoming equipment and moves or transports to appropriate storage location.
Receives requests and processes items for issue while assuring accuracy and completeness of information on issue or shipping document.
Prepares shipping documents to include weight, cubic feet, and dimensions of equipment.
Signs for receipt of property and moves or transports to appropriate storage location.
Operates forklift to load or unload, transport, and stack or un-stack palletized goods from one location to another.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
- This position has a requirement to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items weighing over 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a forklift operator certificate within 6 months of entry into the position.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Mobile Equipment Operator (Material Handler/Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision to include 1) Receiving, storing, moving, and issuing a variety of commercial, tactical and/or engineer equipment and/or supplies; and 2) Operating a forklift for movement of material. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two point on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Physical Effort: The operating of commercial, tactical and engineer equipment requires moderate effort when pushing, pulling and depressing the levers, clutches and brakes. The warehousing and maintenance duties require the incumbent to walk and stand on hard surfaces, stoop, bend and work in tiring or uncomfortable positions. The incumbent is frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds.
Working Conditions: The operator works outside in all types of weather and is exposed to cold, heat, noise and fumes. The incumbent is exposed to possible injury caused by swinging loads held by a crane and moving equipment.
