This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), IBC Office of the Director. The incumbent will be responsible for advising and assisting the Director with the management of program activities in support of agency mission and goals, and administrative activities in support of office operations.

Duties

Coordinates the day-to-day responsibilities of the Office of the Director, advising and assisting the Director and Deputy Director with the management of program and administrative activities in support of office operations. Makes detailed examinations of proposals, recommendations, and reports that require the Director's or Deputy Director's approval. Tracks operational performance; initiates and participates in cross-functional reviews, committees, and study teams; and advises on issues and problems impacting operational performance. Oversees communication and correspondence for the Office of the Director including thoroughly reviewing all incoming correspondence, reports, policies, procedures, etc. for the Director's approval. Serves as an Office Manager for the Office of the Director, providing guidance and direction to administrative staff. Leads and guides enterprise support programs including IBC risk management, audit response and support, and internal controls. Oversees the IBC's risk management framework, establishing a set of components that provide the foundation for designing, implementing, monitoring, reviewing, and continually improving risk management throughout the IBC. Formulates, develops, and provides a review of policies, procedures, and guidelines about complex and critical aspects of IBC.

At the GS-15 level, you must meet the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes experience planning, coordinating, and executing business functions and managing program and administrative activities. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
