This position is located in Carlsbad Caverns National Park, in the Facility Maintenance Division. This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment.

Duties

- This position supervises a team of skilled employees that maintain public elevator systems, water and waste water systems, essential visitor services, housing, utilities, electrical and a variety of buildings and utilities, and related programs. - The incumbent serves as a first line supervisor with overall responsibility for the management/coordination of all work related to the maintenance, repair, alteration and installation services on all buildings, building systems, structures (historic and non-historic), and property within the park. - Duties consist of planning, evaluating, and executing long range and preventive maintenance programs, emergency response and repair of utility systems, budget planning and management. - Project management duties include developing scopes of work, specifications, and plans that can be used to contract out work. Also acts as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for contracted work. - Develops requests for funding by documenting needs, descriptions, justifications, and estimates in the Project Management Information System (PMIS). - This position is key to the Operational Leadership culture being cultivated in the park to ensure that safety is a high priority in the Facility Management Division. - Works closely with other divisions, volunteers, and park partners to accomplish goals and annual work plan.
