About the Position: Serves as the POD/USACE Liaison Officer (LNO) to U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), the Army Service Component Command (ASCC) for U.S. Pacific Command (USAPACOM). The incumbent is the primary POD/USACE planner supporting the USARPAC staff, coordinating and advising on the application of POD/USACE capabilities in support of USARPAC contingency operations.
Duties
Develops operational support plans and coordinate support of overseeing command staff to include engineer, logistics, operations, planning, and interagency offices.
Conduct deliberate planning to provide input for engineer annexes and support organization OPLANS in accordance with strategic planning policy and guidance.
Develop tailored Field Force Engineering assets to support contingency operations of national and international significance.
Participate in the development of policies and procedures for inclusion of interagency stakeholders and defense related collaborative activities in support contingency operations.
Provide expertise on technical engineering support and exercise development to ensure readiness of force, test published OPLANs, and support engagement opportunities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SENSITIVE COMPARTMENTED INFORMATION (TSSCI) Security Clearance.
- This position is designated as drug testing required. Incumbent is subject to pre-employment and random urinalysis testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) preparation, implementation, testing, maintenance of plans, application of appropriate policies, directives and regulations pertaining to contingency operations; 2) crisis action planning for readiness and support to the full spectrum of contingency operations; and 3) coordinating technical teams composed of engineers and scientific disciplines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
