This position is part of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy - Headquarters, Department of Energy. As a Program Manager (Deputy Director), you will serve in a line capacity as the Deputy Director for Integrated Strategies Office (ISO) and in concert with the Director, leads and oversees ISO's work including portfolios such as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility in STEM Fields; Energy Equity and Environmental Justice; and Energy Transitions.

- First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. A qualified candidate's online resume and personnel records must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of energy related programs.
Leading the research development, program planning and scheduling to include implementation of activities to support the organization initiatives on transitioning the nation to clean and affordable energy.
Leading the development and implementation of multi-year program plans and annual operating plans.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
