You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Learning Standards Department of RECRUITING UNIT.

Duties

You will apply knowledge of a wide range of learning science concepts, principles and practices to development of training content with corresponding curricular products and services to facilitate competency acquisition. You will verify and update existing instructional resources, protocols, and products. You will adjust methods and approaches as required to ensure content is technically accurate, current and aligns with current NAVCRUITCOM requirements. You will train, mentor and coach service members assigned to the department.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Implementing management practices and principles to manage multiple curriculum development/revision projects; 2) Applying learning science to curriculum development; 3) Creating/revising knowledge and performance student assessment instruments; 4) Developing networks and builds alliances across DoD echelons and academic institutions; and 5) Conducting recruiting market identification and analysis, prospecting planning and execution, sales techniques applied to human resources, and applicant interviews and screening to match individuals with organizational needs. Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
