The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Inventory Management Specialist, analyzing, evaluating issues, and developing recommendations to resolve problems of work operations in regard to inventory programs. Manage requirement controls, directing quality control reviews and verification of recoverable replenishment requirements and initial provisioning.
Duties
Performs analysis associated with management of items.
Develops and/or implements new theories, concepts and/or develops recommendations to resolve major conflicts in policy or program objectives.
Determines current and future replenishment spares requirements.
Analyzes and monitors planned or scheduled material requirements, forecasts and funds availability.
Participates in meetings and conference to represent the Group.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes evaluating inventory management systems and applying analytical and evaluative methods to resolve item management, funding, procurement and supportability issues. Planning, developing, and carrying out vital inventory management projects and programs. Interpreting new and revised policies affecting work operations of inventory management.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of commonly applied inventory management principles, procedures, techniques, and practices.
2. Knowledge of established supply systems.
3. Knowledge of acquisition processes, automated records and control systems material substitution criteria and storage issues, and disposal processes.
4. Knowledge of specialized analytical methods and techniques to resolve difficult inventory management issues and problems.
5. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and funding processes related to inventory management functions.
6. Skill to apply common analytical method and techniques to resolve difficult inventory management problems and issues.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in an office-like setting involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of an office-like environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
