The Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA), Resource and Integration Office (SA-A) at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is seeking applicants for a Lead Technical Integrator. Serves as a project lead and as an integrator for all actions across the Office. You will lead across all Office disciplines establishing policies and practices consistent with KSC, alignment with SA strategic goals and overall documentation strategy, providing guidance and participate in advance planning of audits.
Duties
Assists the Chief and Deputy Chief with safety and mission assurance (SMA) institutional administration management responsibility and is primarily responsible for the lead integration of actions for SMA.
Establishes of policies and practices consistent with KSC, other Centers and NASA Headquarters instructions, and develops technical and administrative resources to support engineering functions.
Aligns engineering activities with SA strategic goals and overall documentation strategy. Ensures that SA engineering documents are reviewed, revised, and cancelled in accordance with Agency and Center processes.
Coordinates Agency level documentation to ensure the flow down of Agency requirements and the alignment of KSC SA documents with Agency documentation.
Assures optimum utilization of SMA resources supporting institutional administration activities and resolves complex problems and issues related to SMA requirements such as developing and maintaining Center Risk Management policy and requirements.
Provides guidance and participates in planning for audits supporting KSC Internal Management System (IMS), National Quality Assurance Audit (NQA), Government Accountability Office (GAO)/NASA Office of Inspector General Audit (OIG), and others.
Supports performance of assessments by reviewing and evaluating risks, conducting studies, making assurance recommendations to management, and recommending policy and plans necessary to develop an excellent program for existing and future customers.
Advises the Office on safety and mission assurance problems, SMA requirements, and plans. Assists the Chief and Deputy Chief in planning, preparing, tracking, and integrating Travel (ex. Gas and Propellant Audit support to Agency contract).

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Leading or participating in recurring meetings with supervisors to identify opportunities for improvement, establish milestones, and tailor deliverables to meet customer expectations;
Working with program/project teams on SMA policies and requirements, resource allocation, development and implementation plans; Maintaining control of and providing engineering recommendations to supervisors on projects/studies/tests from inception through completion.

Education
Basic Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following:
a) Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs
b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science
c) Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus; and that provided an in-depth knowledge of theoretical and practical applications of computer science, including digital computer system architecture and system software organization, the representation and transformation of information structures, and the theoretical models for such representations and transformations.
If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
Degrees in engineering technology are
not considered qualifying for this position.
