About the Position: This position is located with the US Army 1st Special Forces CMD HQ, 95th CA BDE Fort Liberty, NC and serves as a Dietitian in support of the Army H2F Program.

Duties

Conduct assessments and monitors individuals and groups with the goal of improving foundational health, recovery, and rehabilitation to return to duty. Develop, compound, and present comprehensive physical fitness and nutritional research to incorporate best practices in nutrition programs and resource management based on Commander's expectations. Collaborate and communicate with the Command and unit leaders to pinpoint the health needs of the organization in order to service programs focusing on the Commander's priorities. Participate on an interdisciplinary team to coordinate the rehabilitation or wellness activities for individual Soldiers or groups of Soldiers with the brigade.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing, unless currently occupying a Testing Designated Position within the Department of Defense.
  • This position may require occasional temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 25% of the time.
  • Incumbent may be required to work later in the day and/or on weekends, as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • The incumbent may be required to work overtime and/or other than normal duty hours for data collection, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • The incumbent may be assigned a government cell phone and be required to be in an On-Call status after hours and on weekends.
  • The work requires physical exertion that includes lifting of moderately heavy items and also requires exertion to perform exercises used in physical performance and rehabilitation, including all events in the Army Combat Fitness Test.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Must obtain within six months and maintain Basic Life Support certification. Attend and complete all program identified training.

The curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (formerly American Dietetic Association (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. OR Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (formerly American Dietetic Association (ADA)) for dietitians or nutritionists. OR Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0630 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes delivering individual, group, and unit nutrition services and education to optimize health performance, overall unit readiness, and ultimately, mission success; and providing nutrition education using evaluation tools to measure impacts in support of the holistic health and fitness system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
