About the Position: As a Supply Technician performs a wide variety of supply technician functions within Global Combat Support System Army.

Duties

Receives, reviews, and interprets a variety of supply regulations; determines applicability to supply operations for the directorate. Initiates and prepares requisition documents required to control adequate 30–90-day stock levels. Searches supply catalogs, records, regulations, or other data sources to obtain or correct stock nomenclature or to find authorized substitutes for stock items. Serves as a hand receipt/sub-hand receipt holder for the assigned property. Serves as a Government Purchase Cardholder . Maintains records, statistics, and reconciles/certifies monthly statements of account. Reviews invoices for proper billing charges; rectifies errors with contractors; and verifies payments made against purchase orders.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience: 1.) Ordering administrative supplies; 2.) Maintaining supply records for audit trail purposes 3.) Utilizing an automated supply system to track and itemize supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching or similar activities, associated with the stocking/retrieving of supply items from shelves or cabinets, and the inventorying, issuing and turn-in of supply items. Incumbent required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalDecision MakingIntegrity/HonestyInterpersonal Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
