This position is supervised by the Maintenance Supervisor and is located at the Indian Health Service, Blackfeet Service Unit, Browning, MT. The electrician is responsible for repair/replacements of electric motors, wiring systems, controls, electrical heating system, furnace controls, ETC.
Duties
Services of all electric motors, motor control centers, electric panels, emergency generators, and switch gear within the hospital.
Rebuilds motors, replaces starting switches, verifies belt tensions, aligns pulleys, etc.
Wilt also install, modify, repair, troubleshoot (tracing and location defects), loads and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.
Works on electrical controls for furnace (housing) and various electrical controls on (high pressure and low pressure) hospital boilers.
Must make electronic modifications in accordance to OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and JCAHO regulations/requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:

Physical effort is expended in continually standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in small or cramped quarters. Frequently carries, lifts, pulls or pushes carts and equipment weighing up to and beyond 50 pounds. Work is sometimes performed on ladders and/or scaffolds, which requires employee to work overhead or in stretched, cramped or awkward positions.
Work is performed inside and outside in all kinds of weather. Employee may perform work where pungent fumes are present. Employee has exposure to the possibility of scrapes, bums, and infections and has the occasional exposure to serious injury.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
