About the Position: This is a Security Specialist, GS-0080, position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, North Atlantic Division, Baltimore District, Real Property Services Field Office and located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. You will serve as a Security Specialist for the Security Section and is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of policies and internal controls for all facets of security for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs.
Duties
Evaluate all Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security programs requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) IAW Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, DoD manuals, and other agencies regulations.
Conduct security, vulnerability and risk assessments of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and provide recommendations.
Perform the administration, operational oversight, and implementation of the Personnel Security (PERSEC) for the planning of all relevant security activities.
Prepare and maintains security correspondence, records of official reports, inspections and surveys to ensure the facility is in compliance with regulations.
Process badge requests and monitors the security access control point.
Ensure entrants have been vetted, have visitor requests in place prior to accessing the facility.
Verify and track personnel security clearances through the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
Responsible for maintaining employee’s personnel security record.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Must be able and willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Employees assigned to the Real Property Services Field Office (RSFO) will require a Valid State Driver's License.
- Incumbent will enroll in the Department of Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program to include passing a urinalysis drug testing prior to appointment and passing random urinalysis drug test thereafter
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a special sensitive (TOP SECRET/SCI) security clearance. Must be able to pass a polygraph test or a series of polygraph tests and continue to pass the polygraph test on a periodic basis.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Provide support to the physical security program and advise related to secure facilities. 2) Coordinating the security program and provides security awareness training for personnel. 3) Serving as the Communications Security (COMSEC) custodian and liaison with the Intelligence Community (IC) for the COMSEC program.
