Duties

Receiving all types of publication request and prepares them for processing. Ensuring priority requests are processed in a timely manner including preparation of branch express carrier packages. Assisting in the training of new employees. Using bar coding and computer technology for issuance of stock and preparations of backorders.

• Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
• Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Non-Sensitive Low- Risk suitability fitness clearance.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG -2005-6, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-5 grade level or higher in the Federal Service related to the work of the position. Specialized Experience: The specialized experience is defined as performing typical duties related to the work of the position such as: 1) Receiving business publication requests for supplies and using a computerized stock accounting system for bar coding, 2) Generating reports to produce mailing labels for customer's back orders, and 3) Performing supervisory duties as a Unit Supervisor which include training and quality control. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement(05/31/2024) to be considered.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
