Duties
You will provide emergency life support and deliver medical aid to sick or injured patients.
You will inventory and maintain physician-controlled items and controlled substances.
You will assist in directing or direct on-the-scene delivery of medical aid.
You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques for initial HAZMAT incident analysis.
You will conduct public education training to members of military and their dependents, civilians, and contractors regarding fire and hazard safety.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
GS-08:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying advanced life support techniques and protocols; 2) Communicating orally and in writing while maintaining good working relations with others; 3) Recognizing new or unusual types of combustibles or other hazardous material to determine their fire expectancy and severity; 4) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles and associated equipment of significant complexity; and 5) Administering emergency medical care and properly prepare victims for transport to medical facilities.
GS-07:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques and protocols; 2) Administering emergency medical care and properly prepare victims for transport to medical facilities; 3) Responding to HAZMAT emergencies and demonstrating the proper procedures, equipment use, identification of incident, and decontamination procedures; 4) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles and associated equipment of significant complexity; and 5) Maintaining good working relations and tact when dealing with emergency and investigative response situations.
Must obtain and maintain the following certifications prior to employment: IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Firefighter I/II, D/O Pumper, HAZMAT OPS, State or NREMT-EMT, and CPR. Local and/or regional advanced life support provider credentialing must be obtained within one year of appointment. This includes successful completion of credentialing processes approved by the medical director, which may include written testing, field internship, and oral boards.
