Duties

Maintain property accountability for assigned hand receipt items ensuring that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Check work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions on priorities, procedures, methods and deadlines. Operate systems and office software to operate automated calibration systems and document results. Apply mathematical concepts such as frequency domain analysis, and statistical concepts such distributions, sampling and sample distributions to analyze measurement data. Insure that calibration procedures, technical drawings, and calibration standards are available, and that needed repair parts are obtained.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Determining work methods in accordance with prescribed calibration procedures, available calibration standards, equipment specifications, technical data and electronic principles and practices; insure that calibration procedures, technical drawings, and calibration standards are available, and that needed repair parts are obtained; utilize knowledge of computer operating systems and office software to operate automated calibration systems and document results; and applying a practical knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and practices to repair test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to lead or superviseAbility To Provide Production Support ServicesCustomer ServiceTrouble Shooting PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission
