You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in support of continued operations of Submarine Acoustic Signature Maintenance Program of CARDEROCK DIV NS.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
Duties
You will support the continued operations of Submarine Acoustic Signature Maintenance Program (SAMSP) on-board data acquisition systems.
You will serve as the lead On-Board Technician providing oversight for both in-lab and at-sea operations and maintenance of on-board submarine data acquisition systems.
You will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical guidance for on-board noise measurement systems data quality and ensures data is properly achieved and protected per expectations.
You will oversee proper staffing of trial technician personnel, shipping of submarine load material, and other trial logistic support in direct support of the Submarine Acoustic Trials Program objectives.
You will ensure the submarine acoustic trial test data from both of the submarine on-board sensors and On-board Measurement Systems are reliable from at sea-testing prior to the data being provided to stakeholders.
You will directly communicate with the Technical Project Managers on all On-board Measurement Systems areas pertaining to Project Room support for programs.
You will support the design, development, integration, and testing of large scale on board data acquisition and signal processing systems for the measurement of ship and submarine signatures for applications to both model and full scale vessels.
You will develop documentation of designs for shipboard installation of Temporary Alterations and support the system lifecycle phases.
You will supports testing and qualification of data acquisition systems, including testing of noise floor, reliability, and other requirements.
You will be required to travel to both Navy and contractor facilities, as well as onboard ships and submarines.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: providing technical guidance or applying a wide range of specialized electronics procedures to execute the installation or testing of sensor or data acquisition systems for the support of projects and program operations.
