This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director (OD), Office of Communications and Public Liaison (OCPL), Internal Communications Branch. It entails coordinating communication efforts on topics of broad interest to staff and from the director; developing and implementing internal communications strategies and rollout plans; and managing internal events with NIH leadership.

Duties

Develop a range of materials and products for internal communications, such as email content, web content, newsletters and digital and print signs, about agency programs, initiatives and policies for dissemination to staff. Identify and adapt internal communications tactics for the organization’s workforce ensuring accessibility for all staff functions. Monitor and stay current on trends in internal communications that are applicable to the organization and the evolving workforce landscape. Develop communications plans to disseminate information to internal audiences; ensure coordination across relevant offices and subject matter experts for materials and content supporting internal communications plans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing nationwide health and science communication projects; analyzing existing publications in terms of purpose, content, format, effectiveness, and necessity; developing organizational communication plans; and, creating technical or scientific web content, distributed authoring, and workflow processes.
